Grand Lido Negril, Jamaica Grand Lido Negril is my top choice for a luxury resort in Jamaica. It's an all-inclusive resort for adults 16 years & older, and is located at the far end of Negril beach (which is my top pick of beaches). The reasons it's number one on my list: The location - situated on Bloody Bay, just around the point from Negril beach. The winds coming off the bay keep you cool, but don't blow you away. The water is clear, the sand is soft, and there's not a steady stream of tourists walking the beach The rooms. All rooms are Junior Suites or One-Bedroom suites, and most were recently renovated (late 2003-early 2004). The renovations include new Jacuzzi tubs in the Beachfront and Beach Cove Junior Suites, and new soft goods throughout. The rooms are large, with King beds, small living area, and either a balcony or patio. No cramped rooms here! The service. Everyone here is extremely nice and helpful, and they really make you feel welcome! From complimentary laundry service, to 24-hour room service, to the Scuba staff to the Entertainment.... everyone will go all out to make certain you have the best stay possible. 24-hour room service - and it's free! Nothing like lamb chops in the middle of the night, or a sandwich and fries at noon. Food can be delivered to your room, or you can even have it delivered to one of the Clubhouses. Watersports. The staff will teach you how to sail, kayak, snorkel or Scuba dive, and provide all the equipment you need. I like to take out a kayak and explore the coves along the beach. Sometimes we take out a Sunfish sailboat, and cruise around the bay. Entertainment & Activities. There's always something to do at Grand Lido Negril. If you want to get out of the sun for awhile, there's a game room with pool tables, ping pong, slot machines and board games. At night, there's the Piano Bar and the Disco. Plus, there's always organized activities such as aerobics, yoga, karaoke and bicycle tours. Spa Services. I'm not much into massages, but I do appreciate the complimentary manicure and pedicure. For those so inclined, the resort offers spa services, plus massages on the beach.
