Wow! What can I say? The 5th Annual Jam was awesome!
We had a really great lineup of host musicians this year: Austin Allsup, the legendary Tommy Allsup, Roy Robbins, Jeff Gibbons, Steve Springer, Linn Roath, Bob Luedtke and Brian Condon. These guys performed incredible sets twice each day - either on the main stage, at the nude pool and in the piano bar. Joining them were some great jammers: Steve on guitar, Missy on drums, Bobby on bass, Glenn on drums, Uncle Don on guitar, and Pedro on harp. We also had a number of vocalists, including Bob, Nola and Jerry.
Luckily, the weather was good this time around - no hurricanes! While it was somewhat hot - especially on stage - there was plenty of water in the pools & ocean to cool us down.
The food was excellent this year. The resort has a new Executive Chef, who's former position was for Holland America Cruise Line. Lobster, lamb, steak, snapper, Japanese food, jerk and all the things to go with it.
There were a lot of special moments this year - Tommy Allsup's jokes; Mojo dancer/singer Nola; 'hanging on the 1'; midnights at the nude pool; and being mooned on departure by the Jamaica Waterslide Team. You don't get this every day!
We had a really good time at the Jam, and are looking forward to next year
at Hedonism III!
